im going to look at a crv with my gf on sat. it is a 98 lx. my question is: it has a salvage/rebuilt title. i talked to the guy and hes not sure what the accident was he got it that way. it looks good and straight on the outside. but i need to know where to look to make sure the frame is straight other than just bad alignment on the grille. thanks.

 

DO A CAR FAX AND TAKE IT TO A MECHANIC TELL HIM TO PUT IT ON THE LIFT AND LOOK AROUND FOR ANY WELDING OR OTHERS PROBLEM...

 

have it check to a mechanic or better if you could bring along your trusted mechanic
with you...so both of you could test drive it and check other issues...
carfax/car check it for you to have an idea what kind of accident did it went and
if it passed the dmv inspection....also where are you located/ where was the car
originally from..if the location is prone to snow/salt on the road..etc check the regular
rust spots......etc

ill see if i can find info on the accident. insurance companies should be able to find it right? thanks for the advice. i do all of my own mechanical work. and we are prone to snow. not worried about the rust spots too much. heres a link to the post.

I wouldn't pay 3500 for that to be honest !!!!! But it is your money check all the panels to see what vins don't match and then go from there but I'm sure u can find better !!!!

 

checked carfax. says it was in an accident. light damage. no structural damage. insurance company totaled it in 02. it spent some time at auto recyclers, then orig. owners bought it back and had it fixed.

 

Car fax is a joke !!!! 3500 is too much for a salvage title 98 crv
