Alright this is a local selling his car of eight years. He is iffy about letting it go so I made a nice offer not exactly what its listed at but anyway I wanted to know what you current ITR owners thought of the car. Is it a good buy? Is it a big deal that its been modded? Everything was purchased from ICB so everything was bought at top dollar for this car. I went and looked at the car in person last weekend and I can assure you the pictures do the car no justice! My jaw dropped when I got out of my car I could not believe what I had come across locally. I hope something useful comes from this post, thanks.

I think the dude should put it back to stock and ask a little more money for it. Still, that many aftermarket parts always make me question just how hard the car was driven or what was done with it.

Otherwise, looks clean. If you get it for less than what is being asked, you could sell off the aftermarket stuff and replace with OEM and have a car that's worth more money/make profit.

And his statement of the cleanest one around is not exactly correct

Car looks to be ok. IMO the price is a little steep for a modded car in the current marketplace, even with that kind of mileage. He says he has some of the stock pieces that where removed, that worries me too. There is usually a story invloved when all the stock pieces are not included in the sale.

Where are the original seats? I think if it came with the original USDM seats on top of the Recaros I'd consider it in the 18k range.

It's a good asking price. Leaves room to negociate.
Guy on here "Brian" was the 2nd owner. He traded it in I believe. Here's one of his threads
https://honda-tech.com/forums/acura-integra-type-r-8/happy-birthday-01-0146-a-334391/

It did receive a small dent on the passenger quarter from slipping off a jack. Check carefully how that was repaired.

The original seats are gone, I'm assuming he sold them to help pay for the Recaro's... I was made aware about the jack after I had looked at the car and I tell you I had no clue. The place in Westchester that he brought it to was a family friends suggestion that they have all their work done at from what I understand. I have full intentions of getting those seats out of there and replacing them with most likely oem ITR seat or atleast black Recaro's. I also plan to take the AEM CAI and AEM fuel rail off and replace it to stock. The Spoon parts don't really bother me although I will purchase a BNIB ITR throttle body just to have and maybe sell off the other Spoon parts to get back a few dollars from the purchase price. Other then that I like the way the car is and if he will make up his mind to let it go I will ****** it sometime next week. For the milage and condition I feel the price is on the higher side but still fair. For the market in the current state I can see how most would say your crazy.

So after spending an hour or so looking at lower milage ITR sales within the last 12 months on ITRCA and Honda-Tech I feel that a 18k asking price is fair. Removing some of the aftermrket parts could probably bring in two grand or so and then just locating mint OEM ITR seats would bring the overall price around $16.5 if you really think about it. I am going to stick to my original offer that I gave him and we shall see what he says. The new owner is picking up my S2000 Saturday but I don't need to come across a new car right away would just hate to keep paying storage for an empty unit but would hate to give it up because I got a good deal on it at the time when I had my CTR in there.

this is crazy Jim.......

The guy that is buying you S2k is a police officer correct???? I know him and was talking to him about lookin into a car and he brought up the Silverstone S2k only to find out it was yours!.....Then, now your looking at my buddy John's ITR that he has been keeping in hiding for a ridiculously long time.....he lives right around the corner from me....i actually bought his ITR throttle body when he bought his Spoon one....he is 100% honest about having it garaged for 7 out of the 8 years....he NEVER drives the thing....it wasnt even registered or insured for almost all of that time....meticulously maintained without any question in my mind. The only time i saw this car out on the road was at a local car show a couple years ago...

as you even said your jaw dropped when you saw how mint it is....Im sure you werent able to drive it since all the sh!tty weather weve had recently and i dont think its reg or insured, but i can certainly attest to how good it sounds/feels...

a model ITR in my book....certainly as you said some things can/should be changed...i would get the full Spoon intake setup since he already has the throttle body, coilovers, and the exhaust....

but if your get it, and want to get rid of either the throttle body, or the coilovers, please let me know!!! thanks

Dc2......

I will keep you updated, trying to make something work with John. As far as the S2000 Bryan keep leading me to believe he was going to buy it. Even took the Mugen header off because he didn't want it and changed all the fluids for him. Then out of nowhere he buys a daily and doesn't even tell me he doesn't want to buy my car anymore. I lost two possible sales because I took his word and he asked me not to sell the car on him multipule times. Oh well you live and you learn right? Someone else is buying the S2000 tomorrow if the weather clears up, he got the loan yesterday so I am pretty happy. Back to a Type R it is!

It's not that heavily modded. I mean he's got an exhaust and header and intake all of which are decent brands and not the crappy stuff. The aftermarket fuel stuff makes me wonder where he was going with that. Looks pretty clean. Price is a little steep given current market.

IF I wa lucky enough to purchase the car at the price I offered I would ditch all of the AEM stuff for OEM parts as well as the Spoon axle back. The JDM ITR header doesn't bother me but the seats would go too.

2001 ITR didn't come with the checkered floormatts. Nor H badges. Somebody save this car that's closely on the edge.

I put checkered floor mats in my 01 R as well. They are a lot harder to find and look better in my opinion.

Too bad every other badge says Acura on it. So with that, no--it is not really tasteful. Nor are those red seats.

Red seats in white or black = maybe to yes.
Red seats in yellow = no.

Although I probably wouldn't have swapped out the "A" badge for the "H" atleast he went the extra mile and even bought brand new center caps for the wheels. None the less everything is reversible.

On the edge of being riced/ruined. That R should just be left alone and put back to stock.

They're only a lot harder to find because they've been discountinued. IMO black is better, but to each his own. Not worth debating floormatts.

I was just pointing out that why would a 2001 R that came with black matts have checkered matts? Especially with 28k on it.

He does have the stock mats along with most stock parts. The only thing stock I believe he sold was the ITR TB, suspension, and seats. Nothing that can't be relocated.
