Default Which Springs?

I have a 96 EK hatch with a B18C1 being dropped in soon. I already have Koni Yellows, but I'm having trouble selecting my spring setup. I want a "Sport" type drop 1.5-1.75" or so, but I want the "Race" stiffness. My car will be used for street, track, and winter. So far, I think I might go with the H&R Race springs for DC2 with the Koni's on the highest perch. Will this drop me less than 2"? Any other suggestions?

I know my other option is to get sleeve-type coilovers like Skunk2 or Ground Control, but I'm trying to save some money here.

My friend has the exact setup youre talking about...H&R race springs on Koni Yellow's. Its a great drop and a nice ride, but its the fact that the height is not adjustable. He doesnt scrape all that much, but i would much rather have a set of coilovers with some good spring rates just in case i wanted to raise it up or lower it a bit. If i were you, i would sell my koni's and get a set of Apex'i world sports.

EDIT: If money is an issue, you will be extremely happy with the h&r setup!

I have neuspeed race spring and neuspeed koni yellows. My yellows have five
perch settings a peice.I take it you have regular koni yellows which only have
two and three perch settings. If this is so i don't know if you will have enough
adjustment for the drop you want, I do know with mine (neuspeed version) I can
get pretty close.Infact, i still had 1-1.5 finger gap in the front with the race
spring and yellow on the "stock" setting.Since then i've lowered the font down
one perch in the front.Don't know if this helps you with anything.

I actually have the Neuspeed Koni's. The way I figure it, the DC2 H&R Race springs will be a little stiffer than the EK ones, and they should yield a slightly lesser drop. I don't want to use the EK ones cause they are made for SOHC cars and don't compensate for cars with DOHC swaps. Is my thinking right here?

Race springs for the ek should be fine. I know my neuspeed race springs are plenty stiff. Though neuspeed will not tell you the spring rates i know they have to be atleast 450lbs front and 400lbs in rear. Even my konis have to work hard with these spings, i think it's too much spring for them.My ride is still a little bouncy after the install of the yellows.I wouldn't go higher on the spring rates if you plan on driving it on the streets. If i did a motor swap now i feel i have plenty of spring to handle the added weight.

Anyone know how stiff the EK Eibach Sportlines are compared to H&R or Neuspeed Race springs? The drop on the Sportlines is 1.8" or so, which is okay for me.

My g/f has the wsport lines on her 99 civic ex. They are better then stock but not stiff by anymeans. I do not know the rates but i'm sure they are pretty low.Not even compareable to the race springs. If you're that **** about it sell the konis and get true coilovers with costom rates, or maybe some ground control coilover sleeves with custom rates.

I think the Pro-Kit will definitely be too soft for my tastes.
