Hey guys,

REALLY thinking about making the change to this turbo. Does anyone have any experiences with it on a Honda? How is everyone feeling about the BB vs Journal bearing on these guys?

Specs of what I'm running.

Vitara D16Z6 with a Bisi 1.24 cam, equal length ramhorn and it will be open 3" DP out of the front bumper on E85.

I have a T3T04e 57trim right now, spools really late due to a bad surge problem that I can't fix at all. Main reason why I just want to make the change, and I'm leaning heavily on going with the BB just wondering if anyone honestly thinks saving $600 by going journal on this guy won't affect the spool and performance all that much.

Any input would be highly appreciated. Compressor maps would be even better, but I haven't been able to track squat down as far as they go.

The turbo I would rock if I was to buy a turbo again. I have buddy that bought one for this d16 turbo build.

Its a very nice turbo, provided you get the newer billet version. Ball bearing will help with durability more than spool, so if you plan on pushing the turbo fairly hard, its worth the extra money.

I think it's a good turbo for your setup.

I tuned a simular sohc on a 5857BB recently with ultra low compression/sleeved z6.
The setup was using a spa top mount manifold.
Running 93 octain plus meth. The spool time was good, the car made 407 whp at 27 psi (the car has always made low numbers & like tons of timing. The guestimated c/r is in the 8.5:1 range). I would have to go to the dyno & export the dyno runs to print out the info.

I will say the car's bisi cam cracked within 100 miles... I have yet to hear from the customer about what Bisi said about this.

Good to hear, I just ordered the turbo. You know when it spooled by any chance? I got the billet BB with .63 T3 hotside.

My Bisi cam has been good so far, haven't had any issues. I'll keep checking it though, I do it anyway out of habit.
