Default high beam icon on gauge cluster stays on

i just got done putting on my jdm front end on my crx. after doing the wiring for the headlights. the high beam icon on the gauge cluster stays on. well only when i turn my head lights on it does. once i turn on my high beams, the icon gets brighter. is this something im gonna have to get used to? or maybe the extra wire for ground is keeping the icon to stay on?

since you just changed your wiring, thats most likely the source. double check your work. but maybe that conversion just does weird stuff like that.

how did you do the wiring exactly when you converted the 2 seperate plugs for high beams and low beams into one hi/lo plug for the jdm lights?

h4 bulbs has 3 connectors, from what i researched, it was mentioned that one was low, high, and ground.

the ground i used for the h4 bulb was from the highbeam.

try grounding it somewhere else, completing the high beam ground (which is what you've done) probably switches the high beam indicator on.

When I wired my headlights, I spliced the two existing grounds together and then connected it to the new single ground for the H4 plug. I never had any problems.

BUMP....Im having the same EXACT problem on my EK

Just went outside to test that hi/low ground theory but its a no go.

Im thinking that there is some stray voltage somewhere. Because the when lights are on low beams, I get a not-as-bright high beam light rather than the full on light you get with your high beams on.

I've been staring at this diagram for the last hour.....lol

I had a similar problem a while back. Clean the grounds to the head lights even if they look ok. Take the paint of where you have it bolted to the body. Should clear right up
