Default DX cluster swap

Ok so im sure this has been covered somewhere on this site but after a GOOD 15 mins of searching i decided to start my own thread, so my question is, i recently bought a 98 dx hatch and wanted to no if a ek ex/lx cluster is a simple plug in and play. cant stand not having a tach. ive heard it is can some please confirm.

the dash has to come from the same generation car...ex 92-95 96-00 ect...correct me if i'm wrong guys..
but yes if its from the same gen all u gotta do is plug n play, if ur adding a tach tho i believe u gotta run
a wire to get the rpm readout.....

Plug and play, no wiring. You can swap in the original DX speedometer head to retain your mileage.

as long as the cluster comes from a 96-00 civic regardless of model. I have a CTR cluster in my 00 Civic dx....... but I am curious on how to swap the dx speedometer head. on my DX cluster it has 54000 miles on the CTR cluster it has 124000 miles on it please let me know how to change the speedometer head.......................

ya the only reason i said ex or lx is because the prices are crazy for si's or ctr's
