so i got a 1991 honda accord lx stick and i tried to smog it but it failed smog. it has the check engine light on and one of my hoses has a small hole in it so its leaking out coolant. the ecu number is 37820-pt3-a03 and the engine is a single cam. how can i get somecodes to know what is wrong with the car, im going to replace the hose. if someone can help me than that would be great

Stick a paper clip in that plug with the key on and engine off, then watch the magic unfold on your dashboard.

Your check engine light will start blinking, count the blinks.

1 fast blink, pause, 2 fast blinks = Code 12
1 fast blink, pause, 3 fast blinks = Code 13

And so on, and so forth.


Post your VIR and I can tell you the most likely causes to your problem. The VIR is the white paper the emissions guy should've given to you. It'll display items such as RPM, HC PPM, CO %, and NOx PPM.

i did the jumper harness and the check engine light blinks and stays on then blinks and stays on. its the same speed everytime it blinks what does this mean?

 

ok so i replaced to o2 sensor and it shots a new code, code 15 what is that how how can i fix it?
the car runs fine, only problem is check engine light.

 

sooo my engine light blinked 7 times.? anyone wanna help.
and on a side note. i crashed a while back and it hasnt ran the same. i fixed the radiator. n the hood. and bumber. ever since that my rpms act wierd when i start hitting 40 on the street, and it bogs and pops and it seems like my engine has a restriction and i have to punch it so it doesnt keep popping.

 

ive also taken it to a mechanic and he says he has never seen anyhing like this.
