Hey all,

just thought id introduce myself before posting... got a samba esi D16Z6.

Had a bit of an idle problem after it was sat in theg arage for four months untouched, turned out to be hair/insulation coming out of exhaust so thats making a nice noise now(not)!!!

One thing i have bnoticed is the gearchagne is a bit slurred... possible clutch on the way out or is there something else to check first?

Basically it stutters and jmups a bit before actually pulling in any gear... ive had this before, but in my 306 this was coupled with smell of burning as it slipped... not getting this atm?

No history with it so not sure when clutch was last changed.. it a big job i take it on the sol? (engine out?)

Sounds like clutch chatter.

Dropping the trans isn't too tough, but expect to pay around $400+ US for a shop to change the clutch.

 

clutch chatter as in the clutch is worn and is on its last legs?

Will have to ring round here across the pond and see what feedback i get..
