1st Gen CRV Motor Mounts
When did everyone replace their motor mounts in their 1st gen CRV's? Mine is at 120K miles and I did one lower mount when I did the timing belt at 100K, but the rest are original.
I have not replaced mine yet. But my mom's V needs a set. She took it to a mechanic and he tried to charge her $1400 for the motor mounts and labor. I told her to walk away because the manual makes it sounds easy.
Both of my lower 'side mounts' or whatever they are called were torn, but instead of replacing them I repaired them with 3M Window Weld. Other mounts seem to be fine so far at 130K.
depending on your environment, your maintenance of teh motor, and the driving style, your mounts can last quite long.
My mom's civic has roughly 260k miles, and she is still on stock original mounts. they are a bit softer then they should be, but they are not torn, and still absorb motor vibration like honda intended them to do

i want to do mine, to something more solid. need to get my hands on a set of B-series EK mounts and see if they would work? (anyone got any 99-00 si mounts they want to send me?
)
)
When I asked HAsport they said EK mounts do NOT work. Im still looking into alternatives myself. I'm told energy suspension has an insert kit for the CRV but they do not list it on their PDF catalog. Anyone find anything on this yet?

driver side mounts, the shop i go to havent recieved their stock of avid
mounts.. if they do id get a good pictures if it really works for us....

the back mount works for sure, i just used it in my swap. the trans mount and drivers side mount im still not sure of. i left those stock and just hockey pucked the 2 lower tq mounts.
ok did a little homework on this.
Honda lists the part numbers for the tranny mount and rear mount the same as the civic SI. The driver side could be made to work but would involve welding.
HASport currently has the tranny and rear mounts on their site for 129.00 ea
and i found the stock ones on majestic for 338.19 for a full set including lower mounts.
Energy suspension says the EK insert kit will work since its the mounting that changes from crv to ek and the kit is only 80.00.
atm im thinking ill place an order for both HASport mounts and replace the other 3 with factory. Ill get pics once they come in.
Thanks for the help as always.

i think i am going to leave well enough alone right now. im using an Innovative rear mount, and hockey pucked the 2 lower tq mounts, and it vibrates pretty good already. the motor doesnt move very much at all (just free reving) so until i get it on a dyno and see how much the motor moves under load...im just gonna leave it like that.
the driver side could be made to work with welding? how so?
looks like the hasport EKRH transmission mount will work and possibly the EGRR rear mount will work (at least on 5spd models)

Unless you guys wanted to make a custom mount for some of us, hint hint
thanks for the replay HASport. Always nice to see shops here.
I replace rear mounts on manual trans b-series engines all the time around 130-160k miles. A/C bracket mounts are broken on damn near every Civic/Integra/CR-V B&D series engine I've ever seen and those rarely get replaced. Driver's side engine mounts go bad at random, I've seen em bad at 70k miles and at 200k miles. I can't remember ever changing a transmission top mount, but I've replaced 1 or two transmission front mount before.
God damn it! I didn't realize someone bumped an old *** thread

If your main top two mounts are good, and just want no parasitic power loss from the engine moving, get a set of inline pro mounts. It's the rear and for two lowers. Had them on my old race car and they are awesome!
< has a combination of ek and rd1 mounts on his.
they all just kind of ended up in the same pile when i first did the swap and they were indistinguishable. just used the least weathered, so i'm assuming they are crv mounts
and then i stuck and old energy suspension motor mount insert kit into them. had to trim the rear a bit.. but didn't fit any of my spare mounts either and, iirc, the kit was intended for an integra soo..
hope i help
