i have some 99 civic ex axles i am trying to take out.
i have already taken out the 32mm axle nut, and as of right now, its hard to knock it out of the hub. its stuck on the hub like crazy!
i have taken the whole knuckle with hub and axle away from the car already.
i have tried hitting the axles out with a hammer and its not budging for any reason. and its being damaged from hitting it multiple times, and to the certain point where the axle nut cant even screw in no more.
anyone with any suggestions taking this out? another way to take it out?
any help will be gladly appreciated! thanks!

sounds like you mushroomed the end, get a new knuckle, if you put the nut on before you hammer it, it will prevent this... you might get lucky and be able to get it off, but if you can't even put the nut on its not going to fit thru the hub

yeah always put the nut on when hammering a threaded stud. you could grind the mushroomed part down to fit through. soak it in pb blaster. guess I got lucky, mine basically fell out when I removed them at 150k. Putting them back in the trans. was a bitch though.

you can rent it at an auto parts store. attach it to the wheel studs and screw the big bolt down onto the end of the axle to push it out of the knuckle
if you have mushroomed the end so bad that it wont pass through the knuckle then you may need to grind it down some. either way you need a new axle or at least a new outer cv so you can get the axle nut back on.
