Need help with d16z6 bogging and taching out at 3500 rpm !!!
just got a 92 eg si, it drove fine at first then when i was accelerating it started to bog and then tach out at 3500 like it was misfiring so i replaced spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap and rotor, and the fuel filter. it ran fine and accelerated like a champ for two days then back to the same problem again. if anyone has any advice please let me know asap! all help is greatly appreciated !
it doesnt seem to be running rich but i talked to a friend and he said that if the filters not clean it could throw the whole mix off but when i checked the filter it looked new, what other ways can i inspect the a/f ratio
Get a gauge and hook it up to the o2 sensor wire. If you have a Z6, I'm pretty sure it's the white wire you tap into... Don't quote me on that though.

yeah it comes on when the car acts up, but after i cut off the car and crank it back up it goes off but comes back on once it acts up again
Your check engine light comes on. I've already said to check the code. That will tell you what is wrong and will point you in the direction to go. Why nobody mentioned it before I don't know.

Thats a sticky at the top of the page. Don't waste your money on buying a wideband setup (200+$). Throwing a A/F ratio gauge on a narrowband isn't going to help you. Stop throwing parts at it untill you have checked the code and looked it up. Better yet post the code here. If you have trouble pulling the code post up.

ive gone to every shop around no one can check the code. i did a check to see if i was getting fire from the plug wires, all four plug wires are sending spark and so i did a compression check, all cylinders have good compression so i cranked the car then pulled the plug wires one cylinder at a time and every cylinder but 3 wanted to make the motor stop so its gotta be in the fuel system. bad injector maybe ?
if the light doesnt blink, doesnt matter how much times you try to pull the codes out. thet means that your ecu is gone and that you have to change it.. if anything if you have a friend with the same car or engine ask him to lend you his ecu and it should work fine if thats the problem.. do that before you spend any money on an other one.. thats what happened to my ecu.. so just try that for now. then you're all good..
Then you don't have a good connection on the jumper wire.
Why go to a shop that charges upwards of 30$ to tell you whats wrong when you can do it with a paperclip for free? Read the link I gave you. It tells you exactly how to do it. Step by step. Come on man...

ok well if you go to a shop and its free why not go right ? well no shop charged me anything. im running on three cylinders i know for sure. but im not sure why. i tried resetting the ecu and that didnt work so im kinda thinking the ecu may be fried
my car is doing the exact same thing bogging and same codes and all the ecu was chipped and thought that might be it but not sure and same with cylinder three nothing happens wen i take the plug out so just replace injectors?
