92 eg jdm h22a engine bogging with cel
This problem started this morning, I started the car up to warm it and it started fine. I came back to leave to work and was the road when all of a sudden the motor started bogging and cel came on! I came back home, shut the motor off, restarted the car, cel went away and it stop bogging. Got off work no cel, all of a sudden bogging again and cel came back. It seems like when the car is warmed up the cel comes on and it starts bogging again and the car is running sluggish. I wot and no problem, but when the cel comes on it starts to bog and I research and found some people changed o2 and knock to get rid of hesitation problem.
i drove it to work this morning and it was still sluggish between 3-4.5k rpm and when it was fully warmed up the cel came on again. I got to work and shut off the car and restarted it the cel went off. I don't get!! What would cause the cel to come on and off? If a sensor was bad wouldn't it just stay on all the time? any input on this guys? Pissing me off.
The things I did before this problem occured:
oil change Royal purple
added octane booster prestone to a half of a half gas tank. It said to add to 1/2 to full but it wouldn't affect it this much would it?
car wash also with under body spray. maybe water got into some of my electrical? I doubt it though coz after the wash it ran fine.

Pull the code from the car while the CEL is on. Like jcdimvic said above, if you don't have an OBD scanner, you can short a connector by the ECU and count the CEL flashes.

I check the code and its a 23 ks. I bought a ks from advance auto and the wiring harness is different WTF? any advice? I read that some people run the p28 and that gets rid of the problem but what would trigger the ks to tick off? the ks wouldn't go bad for nothing would it? When the motor gets warm the cel comes on so would it be the ks?
Did you buy the KS from a different car than what your motor came from?
Also, see https://honda-tech.com/forums/hybrid-engine-swaps-18/h22-eg-more-knock-sensor-fun-902088/ .
EDIT: Yes, the KS can just go bad, especially if it's old.
