Default P08J with Hondata S300J Queries

Dear All,

My appreciation if anyone can answer my questions below:

1. Does S300J removes the speed limiter? Software supported?

2. I have one after market Spec R VTEC controller wihch can change the VTEC engage point, shift light flash and removes the speed limiter, however if i use it with Hondata? any side effect? As i know the vss wire and vtec solenoid/vtec pressure wire will have to link to the device and then go to the ecu.

3. Is it possible to create a button for map switching purpose? (example: Drag Mode, Track Mode, Street Mode and etc)

4. A bit warm on my hondata S300J P08J ECU after 2 hours driving, is it normal?

5. I've installed a Carputer with 7"inch touch screen LCD in my car, is it possible to auto open "FULL SCREEN F11" after starts the SManager? currently i have to manual press F11 twice to make it to full screen.

My car is stock EK4 auto OBD2A using selfmade converter harness to connect to OBD1 P08J S300J hondata.

Sorry for my bad english, thanks anyway..

1. the S300 can pretty much do anything you want. so yes.

2. no need for that controller, the S300 can do all that and more. In fact the S300 alters those things properly vs tricking the ECU, so you're better off doing it in the S300.

3. yes. General input, switch to secondary maps.

4. depends on how warm, and how close to the heater vent it sits...

5. no idea

1) Is it possible to enable back the speed limiter? To what i know, there is no speed limiter related feature (example: on and off) in hondata Smanager. My suggestion is to add this feature using Hondata Smanager. What do you guys think? lol..

2) I knew that hondata is fully tunable, however, it is convenience if i can view the speed using the device, switch the vtec engage point by button, enable or disable the speed limiter instantly and feel the brightness shift light using LED (not the engine check light). my concern is that if i connect it with hondata, any side effect to the ECU?

Example
a: using the device to enable speed limiter at 170kph, but hondata already removed the speed limiter?
b: switch light feature enabled in both hondata ecu (set at 7000) and the device (set at 7500), i will receive both signal at different RPM?
c: in hondata the vtec engage point i set at 5500, but the device i set to 5300, any problem? which one priority? (depend on the wiring layout??)

3) Only two maps is switchable right?

4) Thank you.

5) it is good if Smanager allow auto full screen display during program starts, without this i have to manual switch to full screen, i feel troublesome. :-(

1. The hondata Smanager has a rev limit feature. Open SManager and your calibration. Click on Parameters / Rev Limit / Then choose your rev limit and the type of limit that you want.

2. Don't use the "device" only use Hondata. You'll save yourself a lot of headaches.

a. If your "device" is workign properly then you would have a speed limiter @ 170
b. again if everything is wired properly you would see shift lights at both rpm.
c. Depends on wiring layout. Again I strongly suggest not to use both "the device" and Hondata. Just use Hondata.

3. Not sure but 2 sounds right. However, if you have a carputer you have access to limitless calibrations.

4. Your Welcome

5. I have no idea what you are talking about, sorry!

1. why would you ever want it back? Security for someone else driving it, set the revlimiter to 4500 when one of the inputs are active, then hide the switch.

2. view speed using device? why, isn't that what the speedo and tach are for?
If you want to view the perameters that the ECU sees, check out the tunerview (as Turbogixxer mentioned)

3. low cam & high cam (primary and secondary) BUT you can add multipliers to each map depending on other factors. So two sets of maps but multiple other things can be added or pulled depending on what you do with the inputs.

5. loading a computer and SManager is going to take forever if you're going to do it every time to start the car. Or maybe I'm still not clear what your goal is with all this.

Also, don't get yourself set on Hondata, check out eCtune and Neptune.
They are better in some aspects, and cheaper.
