Alarm + Immobilizer + Ignition problem
hey guys hope u can help
I had my 93 Prelude's distributor ignition system converted to external coil and external ignitor as I had a problem with weak spark after turbo conversion. The dizzy internals have been changed too (pickup, crank, etc). It was almost all set to go, and the electrician could start the car ok... but after 2 hours, the spark went weak again.
Now he thinks he got it sorted out, he did some other ****... but when he went to start the car... this is what happened.
1) My 3-point (fuel, starter, ignition) immobilizer does not deactivate. It's a proximity immob, so when you put the immobilizer tag/transponder near the ignition, it will dis-arm the immob.
2) After I had a turbo timer installed, my alarm did not work (i.e. it did not arm or disarm, didn't respond).
3) When you try to start the car (like a jump-start with booster pack battery) , the siren of my alarm (which didn't work) goes off! I know the immobilizer is activated too as the car won't even try to start with the starter motor, and the LED stays on. My alarm cuts the ignition if it is activated, but the starter motor would still go if my alarm was activated so that's how I know it's my immob at the moment.
Can anyone suggest what I should do? I will go in and disable the immobilizer with emergency override code, to see if that helps, but I don't see this as the immobilizer's fault...
I see it as he did some re-wiring which must've somehow fucked up how the immob and alarm operate? Could it also be the immobilizer's tag/transponder scanner? It would be really stupid if I had to override the immobilizer every time to start the car if it wasn't the scanner...
thanks everyone
