i read on the internet that the early 2002 type s up to a certain vin # have there bose subwoofer's polarity reversed??? i looked my vin up and it falls in that range so i started to take my sup apart but cant seem to find the right socket for it. 7mm is too big and 6mm is too small. i dont have any standards and dont plan on buying a set. i was just wondering, does anyone know what size those bolt are? and has anyone here done this procedure? any positive improvement?

 

you don't need to take anything apart! All you have to do is unplug the wiring harness and swap two wires around.

 

you know that "sub" is like a 4" ftl

 

Bose systems suck. We just cut a small hole in the big foam panel that covers the spare tire area. Just a 6 inch hole made a huge difference in sound and didn't affect the rigidity of the unit.

 

I did the wire switch just today. If in fact the wires were reversed you will defiantly know it. Depending on the type of bass I noticed a 10x difference. Does well with the higher end bass, not so much the low.

Super easy, just pop the yellow and purple wires out of the harness and switch them. You have to use a small screw driver on the side of the harness to get the plug out.

FYI I have an 03 model.
