As stated above, I would definilty have one in perfect working.

I know you probably dont, but worth asking. Do you have an oil pressure gauge, what does it read ?

If not, has your oil warning light come on when cranking cold ?

I would replace it for safe measure. as DVDr said, it would be nice if you had an oil psi gauge to see what the pressure is actually reading at. The stock oil psi light only comes on once the psi drops below a certain number. It could be slightly above this and the light not come on. Or that's how I have heard the light is setup anyways.

I put an autometer oil psi gauge in my car years back and wouldn't trade it for anything.

oil pick-up for b-series is about $35 online. not sure what engine you have but it should be a similar price. make sure you replace the gasket as well

EDIT: I saw your other thread that said you have a d16y7 and i was wrong, they are super cheap online. hondapartsunlimited lists it for like $11.

also it looks like the y7 and y8 share the same pick-up but the older d-seires list a different part# so i cant confirm that they are interchangable

there is a small paper gasket that sandwiches between the oil pump and your pickup. it will require replacement. both the oil pan and the pickup gasket require you clean the metal surfaces thoroughly prior to replacement.

take your time and do it right.
