You're going to be pushing that intercooler to its max efficiency.. your power is going to drop off early do to lack of flow. you're going to need a bigger one IMO. there are many out there. Precision, Synapse, Are 2 good reasonable companies.

 

That doesn't sound very large...my Spearco core is rated around 500whp and is 27x12x3

 

I currently have a Full Race(PWR) 28x6x3 and it's rated to 500-550. I'd imagine it will begin to get restrictive the higher/closer you get to 500whp.

Synapse Motorsport makes a nice 600hp IC w/ a Garrett core, or like someone else said, a Precision 600hp is also a good choice.

 

when you say running out of efficeincy do you mean not able to push any more air threw the intercooler? or do you mean it cant dissipate anymore heat?

 

Both. A smaller IC will run into heat soak quicker, and it can only flow so much. Either way, if you're trying to push 500 hp, nut up and buy a decent IC.

 

30inch long, 8 inch tall, 3.5 inch thick would this size intercooler propel me to 500whp on my d16z6 build and will the 2.5 inch intercooler piping be fine or will I need 3 inch intercooler piping for more air flow? please help out a fellow honda owner thanks

 

^You will be fine with the 2.5 inch piping. I have 2.5 inch on the cold side and 2 inch on the hot side. Running the precision 600hp IC myself too.

 

I have the Precision 600hp intercooler. Good **** right there.

 

No need to use tubing bigger than the throttle body.

it will do the job but bigger is better lol.
