hey guys i recently built a ls vtec and its a gsr head! long story short i built the motor and the head is stock never touched came off a runing car! ok soo motor is in the car.. put 2000 miles engine changed oil to royal purple no noises ETC! and then today i had hood open and started car and i hear a weird rattle noise or tinking sound on towards the middle of valve cover towards the fuel rail section! but i also listened to my dizzy close and it seems to sound the sound im hearing! can it travel down the cam? idk just curious sounds weird but idk... can anyone help me figure this out! is thier any tricks to know if like a valve is bent or something! like i said no smoke motor runs really strong! i dont beat on my car EVER i just drive it normal bc its breaking in ETC! please HELP thanks in advanced!

so u think its the dizzy? like i said i can hear the clicking sound comin from the dizzy and sounds eco on the valve cover! maybe the rotor is coming lose or something. idk ill have to check it out tomrow in the sunlight! anyone else have any info?

 

Compression test will check your valves. You could also pull of the VC and check the valve lash. And you could check the dizzy if you think that's where the noise is coming from... What kind of tune do you have?

i have it converted down to obd1 and i have a lsvtec basemap custom from xenocron.com its my buddy chris harris up in ny. he gave me 2 chips.. i swear by his work everything i ever got was mint and worked really good! but i wanted to get it on a dyno and get **** done.. but now this;(
