S600 Gearbox...how do i check they OK?
Came across a bit pile of engine/running gear for S600 Honda parts. There are 4 gearboxes, prob the same amount of blocks & parts to build motors. What I would like to know, if there a way to check gearboxes are OK without actually installing them?
I have turned them by hand, they rotate freely, with no noises...there doesnt seem to be any play? If i pull them apart for visual inspection, am i going to find everything falls out & leaves me baffled?
Help would be appreciated.
Regards,
Rob J

S600 Gearboxes seem quite strong and the engines fail before they do. The large bolt holding the drive gears to the main shaft in the extension housing can work loose causing a jamb. If the tail shaft turns OK then this will not be a major problem. I have some pictures on my thread.
