Default 1989 Honda HF Starting Problem Please Help!!!

hey everyone though i seem new here iv been on this site for the past 5 days trying to read through the forum to see if it can solve my problem...

i have a 1989 Honda HF with a D15B motor
my current problem is that it wont crank no more....
before this happened it was cranking fine then when i stalled about 5 times
i tried to start it again it wont crank no more i have replaced the battery, starter, distributor, distributor, fuse box still no luck....
my ecu blinks 8 times...i read around its for Top Dead Center Sensor....
if that was the problem would it cause my car not to crank????....
please help me solve this problem...if anyone needs more information call me at

it would still crank with a bad crank sensor. double check to make sure the new starter is wired up correctly, check your engine grounds. u could check your ignition switch and clutch switch aswell as i know these go bad more often than you might think. as far as the crank sensor, you could have got a bad distributor, sometimes new parts can be bad. but pull your timing cover and make sure the belt didnt snap or jump timing.

any chance you can tell me where a crank sensor is? and also the starter is wired fine because when i turn the ignition over i can only hear the starter click once and the relay under the dash clicks once also and im sure the clutch switch is fine because when i turn the ignition without steping on the clutch no sounds but when i do step on clutch i hear the click from start and relay once and also timing belt is fine because push starting the car works fine and i dunno how to check the ignition never done it

Agree... check all battery conections all the way to the frame rail n tranny ground, wiggle the battery connections while having someone else try to start it. Try giving the starter signal wire 12v @ the starter also, could be some resistance in the wires

yea either its a ground issue, or your ignition switch is not functioning. do as suggested above and give the starter 12v to the signal wire and see if it cranks over. since you say you've already replaced the starter i'm lead to believe your problem is likely with the ignition switch. test it out

run a wire from the positive off the battery to the signal terminal on the starter located here. make sure the car is NOT in gear.

if the engine starts cranking then most likely the ignition switch is at fault because its not sending 12v to that terminal. if it doesn't crank then either you've developed a major ground issue, or the starter solenoid is junk. in which case replace the starter

your exhaust is glowing red in color? if thats the case then your catalytic converter is clogged up. replace it or just take it off and bash out all the material inside. then see how it runs after that

the charging issue is likely either the alternator or the electronic load detector. test it out

you could also bring the car to advance or autozone and have them run a diagnostic test on it. might be able to tell you whats failed.
