We pulled the carb on my buddys 1991 civic ef, and now we have this rouge vacuum line that we're not sure where it goes, we can't figure it out.

Here's the line in quesiton:



Connects to something on the firewall, but we have no idea where the other end goes. The line has a smaller line in the tip, like it's supposed to go IN something, maybe not over something?

 

It goes to that charcoal canister or whatever it is called next to the fuel filter.

 

Where is the fuel filter? Shold the coal canister be on the passenger side or what?

 

fuel filter is right below your hand in that picture, it has the two fuel lines attached to it with brass fittings.

 

I still can't figure out exactly where this goes?

 

here is the vacuum line diagram - looks like from the picture that you are holding hose #7 which goes from the side of the purge cut-off solenoid to the top of the charcoal canister - connects just above the red braided cloth covered hose that runs from top of throttle body to canister - also looks like the plastic nipple for the hose is broken off the canister and is in the hose

 

I think that is what happened, thanks for the diagram, where did you get it from? His car didn't include a owners manual.
