Default Faulty MAP Sensor = Limp Mode?

Hey guys-

Is it reasonable to assume that a defective MAP sensor would send a B16A2 into limp mode?

I ran a code P0103 when I had it checked a while back. Reset the ECU and didn't see the code again for a long time. Now, I can trigger the code SOMETIMES by taking it to redline.

Any ideas??

Thanks.
