Default B16 HEAD STILL GOOD?

me and my friend have a pr3 head and are trying to see if its still any good or fixible. we want to re-use it cause its got a jg port n polish job, type r dual springs, aftermarket retainers & supe tech valves. now all thats still good but the head was re-surfaced way too much on 1 side that it looks like theres no meat on it. my friends the lamo who took it to some unknown machine shop too try & save $$ but another friend pointed out the bad work. so can we save this head and re-surface it more on the side to be even with the side thats got almost nothing left or is it screwed for good?? will it be safe to use if both sides end up being even or is that just too much? i just want some opinions before i take it to a shop this weekend. if this heads still any good or if it can be salvaged, it will go on a 1st gen b16a stock block with stage 2 cams & maybe a 2 layer zerg industry head gasket. im trying to reach 11.5:1 compression on this.

Keyword being "Reputable". The right shop should be able to tell you if it's salvageable.
