Default Someome please help ASAP!!! Please

Ok so i just bought everything to do a rebuild on my b16a2. A machine shop is gonna put everything together and my question is, I bought JE rings for the pistons. Can i use JE rings on a stock piston? I was told yes, now my tunner said no, before i install these I want to know if it will be okay.

Thanks!

You need to know what material they are made of and what the recommended surface finish on the cylinder walls is. You will also need to check end gap and as well as side gap and make sure they are within spec.

Why did your tuner say no? He must have given you a reason.

maybe he ended up overboring and now also need oversized rings?

if still orig pistons and stock bore, the stockers and the JE rings themselves are still 1mm top, 1.2mm mid and 2.8mm oil control rings, should be a-ok.

Not motor work has been done yet, I just gave him a run down of what will be done to the motor and mentioned stock piston with the ring i posted a link to. And he said usually you still with the same brand but I decided to go with je instead of honda. Someone?

According to the rings i ordered they are indeed 1mm, 1.2mm, and 2.8mm for oil. So with the stock piston and those rings it will be okay correct?

Thank you so much!
