High Idle

Ok. I got the Integra Running. I bought a new distributor and switched out the old one and it started up. But this time, the Car idles and stays at 2500 rpm's. Last time it was at 3k-4k rpm's. Any clue why? Could this be the new tps sensor I installed? And also, theres some smoke coming from under the heat shield with a weird smell. It also sounds different from last time since we started it up. Any help would be appreciated.
Check for vacuum leaks. This may not be the easiest thing to troubleshoot, but is generally the cause of a high idle. Not knowing anything about your car or why your Integra is now running, i can't be of any further assistance

Ok. I had the spark plug wires plugged in the wrong places and now I fixed it. But after I plugged in the spark plug wires to the correct holes, the car now idles @ 3k rpm's and keeps rising.
And the problem is still most likely a vacuum leak. A car can't idle high without more air than is supposed to be metered through the throttle body. You could have a leak in one of several places:
1. Misc vac hoses off the intake manifold
2. Throttle body gasket
3. Intake manifold gasket
4. Idle screw is adjusted wrong
5. IACV is broken, not working correctly or is loose
6. Crack in the intake manifold
No matter the method, the fact remains that air is bypassing the throttle body. Find it and you'll fix your problem

I'm jw if it can be something with the wires to the tps thats triggering it because code 7 also comes up.
ok my boy had this problem with his b20 swapped si. theres a plate on the bottem of the tb i beliveve it has 4 phillips screws its a round quarter side screw. screwed it all they way in. i think itss made of plastic i dont know they name but if you find it ur golden.
Again as previously stated, the only thing to cause RPMs to rise / fluctuate is excess air bypassing the Throttle body. My car has a similar problem. Use a vaccum gauge and see if any valves are leaking. The IACV may have gone bad and needs to be cleaned or replaced. And your FTCV could be bad or its screw mis-adjusted over time. There is tons of support for this on here. Just search it.

I just had a friend come over and calibrate the new tps. I know he had trouble getting it to .5 so I'm not 100% sure if its on .5 but it should be real close to it. Anyways, I reset the ecu after he did that and the cel code 7 went away. Now, it just flashes 1 time. It's the long cel flash. It flashes, goes away, flashes, goes away. Now when I start up the car even when it's cold, it still idles kinda high. Before, it was at 3k and rises. Now its 2500 and slowly rises. I'm getting tired of finding out where the problem is and running out of ideas. Any other ideas where it might just be??? I cleaned the iacv already. I was searching through the net and found a guy with a b16 with the same problem and they told him it might be the fuel filter. Any help at this point would be great. Also, where is all the vacuum lines located so I can try to find it?
weird smell might be coolant leaking onto header and exhaust. i had that on mine for a few days and the smell is really iritating to my nose. all fixed now. just a hole not plugged that is all.
