Electrical problem. Need to fix so I can sell!
So I'm trying to sell my car to have some funds for Spain next quarter but am running into a very small but annoying problem. There seems to be an electrical short in the car somewhere where when I press my brake pedal the interior lights turn on and I hear the chime. When I turn my headlights on, this problem does not exist. I know it is an electrical short..but have no idea where to start looking and what to look for. I noticed the button on the brake pedal switch does depress and raise properly.
I'd rather fix it than try to pass the problem on to the new owner. Help please!

Sounds like somewhere on the brake light circuit it's touching the dome light wires from the door triggers. I'd start there first.
oh any chance it has an aftermarket alarm?

Unfortunately nobody can help you trace down electrical problems from the internet. You'll have to get your hands on a service manual that will help you to do function tests on the proper harnesses and a multimeter to trace shorts. You know what circuits are effected -- now you just have to locate the wires involved and use a multimeter to figure out which ones are shorting out. GL.
