Autodynamic font lip Questions and Problems.
My lips just arrived, my car did not have the factory lip on it so i don't know how to mount the lips i have now. If you have some pics or a how to that would be great. I'm sure i can figure it out, but sence this web board is here i might as well use it to ask. Also I bought dupilcolor bumper paint but no primer, It is absolutly necessary to prime the lips before painting them. How should i prep them? When i test fitted the front lip it seemed to fit fairly well. I'm not sure if i'll use the rear lip yet, i'll have to wait for my new exhaust. It doen't seem to be compatible with the apex n1. If you can answer and of my questions post away.

Anyway, here is what i'm dealing with. I figured i would have to do something to this lip to make it fit when i bought it. The left side of the lip fits fine but the right side has a pretty big gap (shown in the pics below). Granted nothing is bolted down in the pic but i do not believe that will fix the gap. I messed with it and the only thing i can come up with is to somehow shape it to fit correctly. Anyone know if this is possible with a heat gun or hair dryer?
Learn your lesson and stay away from the fake ****! That looks like a shitty mold to me!

that's a really bad fit... what is the lip made of?

Damn the mold looks like sh@%. It's got so many ripples on that side. If it's as thin as it looks, you might try double sided sticky tape (3M)

second that.

I have the same front lip for my 99 Si. Mine hugged tight, but we did have to fabricate some aluminum brackets on the underside to screw onto the oem bumper. The underside of the lip was way too short and wouldn't reach the bumper.

As for your rear lip and exhaust. Just go to a muffler shop and have them heat up the hangers and lower it. My 5Zigen exhaust can was lowered 1 full inch so it wouldn't melt the cutout on my rear bumper.
Now that I think about it, that might possibly be a 99-00 lip, but autodynamic just sold it for 92-95 civics?? Besides being short on the underside, the lip hugged my bumper PERFECTLY everywhere, no gaps at all.

lol, you don't lower the apex n1 on a hatch. Besides i've already sold it to someone, i'm waithing on my new exhaust before i take it off. The lips also came with mounting hardware.

I just got the front and rear lips too.. I havnt tried to see how they fit yet.. but i did hold it up to the front of my car and it looked like it was gonna fit pretty well.. Once i get my car back i'll put it on and see what i can come up with.

I had some time to mess with it a little today and i think i've figured out what happend. One side was cut correctly and the other side (the one with the gap) was cut wrong taking off too much material. There is no way to get it to fit perfect due to that so i'm going to get it as close as i can. One day when it stops raining i'm going fit it, mount it, take it off and paint it, then mount it again. Somepeople got lucky and theirs fit fine and some didn't, i'm one of those who didn't. Oh well.......

Can't you send it back, I'd be pissed if they provided me with a shitty cut. Good luck to you though...

That's without the 3m tape. Once that's on it shold take care of the gap. I want to paint it and be done with it but it's too humid outside. Guess it will have to wait. I'm just glad it's goinig to fit, one less thing i have to worry with. Thanks eveyone for your help.
