Hello Honda-techers.
I have a serious of a problem when my car is turned on.
I just finished an auto to manual swap on my 99 civic ex. (done everything correctly too, from tranny, Intake Mani changeover!)
revs anywhere from 100-1000 RPM at some times.
got codes and says i got a misfire on cylinder 4.
plus+++ @ the same time....
also burning coolant, always have to refill the radiator and white smoke comes out of exhaust end.
& also noticed a bit of a "psstttt sound" around the manifold area, somewhere near the injectors and/or in between the IM gasket and head
what can be this problem? How can i fix it / diagnose it?
Any help GLadly appreciated! thanks!

Did you hook up the hoses correctly..? Any changes to motor? Mini-me or motor swap..?
How about compression test in cylinder 4? Did you put new gaskets on as you pieced everything together (intake manifold gasket, IACV gasket, etc)?
Any other codes other then misfire in 4?
Did you change ECU..?

i sure did. all hoses are where its supposed to be, the auto iacv hose to the rear end of the manual manifold iacv. etc.
I also used the automatic manifold gasket cause it looks pretty good to me still.
no changes to motor, except that its got a cold air intake ever since i got it day 1.
No mini-me swap, just the y8 long block, all it is just the tranny swap.
the codes that threw out were....
P0304 cylinder 4 misfire
P1399 manufacture control system or misfire
I am assuming the intake manifold gasket is bad and its causing a leak.
anyone with any thoughts?
intake mani gasket imo. get some carb cleaner and spray it around the gasket. if the engine stumbles when you spray a certain point youve found a leak. im 99% sure this is your problem. the motor is getting unmeasured air causing the misfire and idle and the psst noise.
