1. Is it good to run in your Honda?

2. How often should I change my oil with Royal Purple?

3. Has anybody had any problems with using Royal Purple?

4. What are the pros and cons?

Just wondering because I am debating weather to run it in my Honda or not. Thanks

Just stick with Mobil1 Clean 5000 or Honda oil... (I say Mobil1 because ExxonMobil produces oil for Honda)

There was an article awhile back... They asked the Honda CEO what oil would run best for Honda vehicles... his exact words were to just stick with Honda oil... even when people asked him if they should run synthetic or conventional. The chemical balance/structure was designed specifically for your car and you can't go wrong with it if it came out of the factory with it. Do your oil change every 3000-5000 miles, use Honda filter or K&N filter or Mobil1 filter... and Honda oil or Mobil1 Clean 5000 oil.

Heres a big tip, Honda oil costs more because it has the Honda label on it... and dealerships need to make money. As I said earlier, ExxonMobil produces oil for Honda... The gallon jug at walmart for Mobil Clean 5000 5W-30 is wayyyyy cheaper :D

I use to run Royal Purple in my ls/VTEC cause you could just tell it was sooo much better than what I used before that (Castrol Syntec). But then I heard of alot of people's bearings getting to hot with Royal Purple so I switched to Mobile 1. Won't use anything else...

x2 on the jug at wal mart! In north east KS, O'rielly's sells 4 qt. jugs of Mobil 1 for ~$27. At wal mart, a 5 qt jug is $23! LOL...

I just use mobil 1, it goes on sale often at the store, its like $30can for 4.4 litres.

And I also can't get royal purple where I live, they don't sell it in the province anymore.

I use rp for over a few years now and no problem I use it in my gsr and eg h22a. I use to use castrol untill I used rp and it restored my loss hp more then castrol, not saying castrol is bad but it's good for it's money spent-also castrol syntec blend only contains 10% syntectic.

autozone always has a sale on oil. like, 12 bucks for 5 quarts and a filter. i got mobile1 5000 oil and an stp filter for 14.99 last time i did my oil change. not too bad i don't think. and 3 months ago in muscel mustang and fast fords, there was an article comparing all the top brands of oil. autozone brand made .5 MORE hp than the 30-40 dollar oils did. i've used supertech in lots of cars and never had any problems with it.

why would you change synthetic more often than conventional? especially when synthetic has alot more resistance to heat than conventional.

Very good info and proves that no other motor tested other then Penrite synthetic stands up to Royal Purple. I don't know but here in ATL, GA Pep boys are having a sale on RP oil and RP oil filter for $49.95 for 5 QT and filter. Now that's a deal! Honda+Royal Purple oil=

Wow, there are some minsinformed folks on this one!!

Number 1- Mobile 5000 and Mobil 1 are NOT the same thing!
Mobil 5000- Conventional oil
Mobil 1- Synthetic

You do NOT need to change synthetiics nearly as often as a conventional oil, thats the whole idea behind them, longer change intervals and better wear protection!

Autozone oil producing .5 more hp than any other oil?!?!? C'mon WTF are you smokin? Granted some big oil company is making the oil for them but I highly doubt its a top tier oil.

Mobil 1 is a top tier sythetic oil and has been for many many years, it is a factory fill in many high end cars so think about that... You guys all need to go over to www.bobistheoilguy.com and do some reading!!

i ran royal purple, in a straight ls with a mild built head, you can tell the difference , but i spun a bearing tearing up two stangs... i'll have to agree, stick with mobil1, its by far the most reliable and doesn't disappoint me, royal purple did...
