Default DIY hood shocks on EJ, EG, EH no drilling to vehicle at all

Well, here we go. Another boring day. So i decided that im too lazy to walk to the other side to prop my hood up for the last time. I noticed there werent any hood shock install on EG's or EJ's so i decided to write this one up for fun. sorry if its in the wrong forum or category

Please move if not in the right forum MODS. LOL

lets start off by saying this is just for fun. I am not in any way responsible for anything that you do or use reference to. this is for informational and spite of boredom only. attempt at your own risk. thank you and enjoy.

items for install/ prep:
ANGLE 1/8'' THICK 1" x 36" ALUMINUM
cardboard (for templates)
Delsol or Civic hatch shocks, new or used
(i chose the delsol ones because they are beefier and shorter)

tools you will need:
vise (table one preferred)
drill
hacksaw or cutoff wheel
marker (to write/mark on your template)
drill bits
hand tools
misc nuts and bolts (preferably 10mm and 12mm)
12 pack of BUDLIGHT
and...maybe patience

the car:
EJ (same procedure for all others ex: EG, EH)

im just gonna go right into it.

here we have the material used. i purchased this from home depot for 9 bucks. your not gonna use all of it but its all that they sell, and no, they wont cut it for you.

i cut a template using some existing 1/16" x 1" angle i had laying around. i already have my measurements from some cardboard i used for reference.

measurements:

hood bracket: 4.75" total length, cutoff at 3.5" (L shaped)
drill directly in the middle (4" from bottom) of tab using 3/16 drill bit then finish off with 3/8 drill bit.
hood bolt holes measured at .5" from bottom and 1.5" from top (use pics for visual)

strut bracket: (used from the excess piece cut from the hood bracket) 3.5" total length
angled 45 degrees using vise at 1.5" from bottom, cut off top piece at .5"
drill approx. .75" inside this piece using 3/16 drill bit then finish off with 3/8 drill bit.

(final install was using the 1/8" x 1"x36" i purchased at HD)

here is the hood bracket(s):

here is the driver's side strut bracket: (note the angle)

here is the passenger side bracket: (note the angle)

all brackets used:

I placed my brackets perpendicular (T) with my ITR strut bar because it has the most clearance of all places. it wont work any where else (shocks are beefier than Tein ones)

driver's side strut bracket:

passenger side strut bracket:

driver's side hood bracket:

passenger side hood bracket:

passenger shock installed:

driver's side shock installed:

here is some fitment pics of the fenders, headlights and hood.

and of course final hood picture (side view):

and of course a video: sorry if the motor is hella loud...LOL

sorry:
I DONT KNOW THE LENGTH AND PITCH OF THE BOLTS/ NUTS I USED. IT WAS JUST LAYING AROUND AND I HAD FOUR OF EVERYTHING SO I USED IT.

no place else you can put it unless you purchase thin shocks, which is IMO too much
