whats the difference i know one has vtec but is it worth the swap? also ive been hearing its hard to find parts for d15b vtec is that true

yea it's hard to find those parts...i my self havent yet came upon a d15 vtec...

nah it's not worth it i belive the d15 vtec and da d16 vtec dun have much diffrences...
maybe the df15vtec has a liitle bit more power...

but d16 parts and engines are more common all depending where also

The d15b vtec has around 25 more horse than the b7 and around 7 more tq. So if you're looking for a massive power gain, go elsewhere.

As far as parts being hard to find, they're not. The head uses Z6 parts (except for the cam shaft) and the block uses mostly Civic VX parts (d15z1) except for the pistons and crank which are unique to the d15b. The d15b is pretty much a direct replacement for the d16z6. The d15b is the most powerful d series made.

i have one....direct from japan! JDM FTW!
but seriously, it makes better power than a stock Z6....and it is a wonderful baby to boost it has dual acctuator solenoids, therefore acting as it has 3 cams.....thats why its called a 3-stage vtec.

theres two types of D15B's vtec. Obd1 and obd2 1 vtec soleniod on the Obd1 and for the Obd2 it has two. both are about the same power D15B7 is pretty weak unless you do a mini me swap go vtec head on a B7!

It runs a little leaner than the z6 and the cam is more aggressive, but yeah, 5 hp more.
