turn signal problems 88 ef
Ok im trying to figure out why my turn signals and hazards not working....i noticed i dont have a lil clear box that goes right next to my head lights next to the relay witch i dont have ither all those wires are just cut could that be the problem and and what does that box do my friend said they might be grounds if thats what they are cant i just ground them?
thanks
thanks
yeah just ground all the back wires, if you get another "ground box" (the clear box) it would make that much easier and cleaner, try a junkyard. If its not black its not a ground.
thanks i would go to the junk yard but im in another country right now and thats out of the question ....I noticed on my friends 90 ef has more grounds and on mine i only have 3 on each side is that correct or am i missing some wires?
yeah there are 9 grounds on the left side 10 on the right, but some of those grounds are crimped together in the ground box . if you open the ground box there are only 6 spade connectors.
btw this info is all out of the service manual

thanks bro I have the helms manual but it doesnt go that much into details ill try and see if i can find a service manual people out here are clowns when it comes to wiring
I was actually looking at the Helms manual with wiring diagrams, some Helms manuals dont have the wiring diagrams.
you dont really need the manual. try unlooming the wire harness at the headlight, and also the end that is routed towards the bumper lights, see if you can find any cut wires, maybe you will find the missing wires, you could also try tracing the wires back to each light.

i did unloom the the harness all the way to where the engine fusebox is at and only found 3 grounds on each side, ill try going a lil further back. I took the bumper of to look at the bumper signals but they had them conected to some wires that come from the fenders now that you say that i have not checked what those wires are for thanks again

So you are from the Dominican republic? Is it possible that your civic /or crx is a different model compared to the USDM model? if so maybe it has less grounds there.
maybe you should just ground those 3 wires to see if that does it.
btw the relay next to the ground box is for the radiator fan,

Also notice the wiring on the engine harness seems diff from from a pin-out i found i dont know if its because it used to be dpfi or because its a jap car ? well im guessing it used to be dpfi but it has a b16 right now.
well one of those grounds is for the eld at the fuse box.
dont worry about your fuse box until you straigten out you harness, like replacing it with an intact harness.
melted wiring dang that sucks. have you grounded the 3 wires yet?

I grounded the 3 wires on both sides still nothing i think next thing i will do is try and jump a wire so i can rule out if its the fusebox i straighten out my harness so i know now the harness is not the issue and i keep thinking its the fusebox because i kinda jumped a wire directly to the harzard switch and the signals on the cluster turned on so i want to see now if i jump one of my turn signals if it will work. I think the wire for the turn signals is green/white. Im heading to the states in a week so i want to know all i need so i can get it once im there.
Interior stuff is almost imposible here to get but jdm engines and front ends are easy to find I actually have a jdm front on it and it has an sir swap its just that people here for some reason cant do wiring 3rd ef i had here and they all had wiring problems but this one being the worst i have seen so far.
ok so I took my fusebox out and tried it in another ef and the turn signals worked all of the fuses that had the problem on my ef still didnt work but atleast i know as far as the turn signals the fusebox is not the problem.
that being said i think the problem lies with what gives power to the hazard/turn signal relay because in my ef it gets no voltage and on the other one it does....
I think the next step is to check why the hazard/turn signal relay is not getting power and that should solve it but how do i do that?

Same **** happens to mine sorta, my right signal works perfectly.
but my left signal blinks fast cause my bumper light doesn't work and when i turn on my hazards the whole left turn signals don't work, i still get power to my bumper light something like 3.40v
It's frustrating.
