Default DC2 ITR Steering wheel

Hey all, I finally got my hands on a complete DC2 steering wheel. I want to install it on my 95 Accord Wagon LX. Is this a straight install or do I need to do any depinning or anything else?

Any tips will also help. This will be my first time playing w/ the steering wheel on my Accord.

Thanks

I'm unsure if the ITR wheel fits, I know the S2k one does. You can look up the install procedures in I believe the Accord FAQ or on Honda Society.

Generally speaking from memory,

There are two plastic covers on the side, pop those out with a screwdriver.

Disconnect the battery and wait at least 20 minutes (dont want an airbag exploding in your face)

There are two T25? I think Torx screws you need to remove, one was a complete bitch for me to remove. Then you can pop out the airbag.

There is just the one center nut holding the steering wheel on at this point. Take it out and I used a rubber mallet to pop the wheel off towards me.

'94-01 Integra/'92-95 Civic steering wheel won't work on your Accord without some fabrication; the splines are different. You should have gotten an EK9 CTR wheel or a DC5 ITR wheel instead of a DC2 ITR wheel.

IIRC you can use a wheel from an S2000, RSX, '96-05 Civic, or '97-01 Prelude/CR-V on your '96-97 Accord.

Alternatively you can check the compatibility using the NRG fitment guide since it tells you what cars the short hub will fit.

I think the Accord uses like the 140H or 104H something like that (whatever the S2000 uses)

Hmm see Im receiving mixed information, because when I was looking for a wheel I was told to stay away from the DC5 wheels and the EK9 wheels since my car is a 95. If it was a 96-97 then I was told to go with the DC5.

Ah damn, yeah it's tricky with the 94/95.

Originally there was a blanketed statement by tons and tons of members that they had a different sized spline than the 96/97. Some members that were pioneering bought S2000 wheels and they fit. There were concerns of if they were like special case like EX w/ ABS or LX w/ ABS. But I think that's been disproven as well.

If you look on HondaSociety there are a bunch of recent threads about it.

I could have sworn your original post said that you had a '96. Now that I look again, I see "95." My mistake.

I have no idea. Try it. It takes 10 minutes to swap steering wheels with the correct tools. You'll need a T30 Torx driver. Do not try any other size as you will strip the screws - they're held in pretty tight with thread-lock adhesive.

I wanted to correct this information, after reviewing the manual it states that the Torx screw is a T30 not T25
