Do you have a garage, but need tools? LOOK!

It's sad, but my car buddies have all moved away. Otherwise, I'd be covered.

That being said, if someone knows a garage for rent in Portland, lemme know!
Thanks for the response!
This is all wrong. You're setting yourself up to get ripped off.
I'd keep searching for a storage unit. My PubSto unit had a "no working on cars" type policy, but as long as you didn't make a mess, or weren't there all day pulling motors and crap, then they really didn't mind.

Well, thanks for the advice, but contrary to popular belief, I am not retarded. I would make sure this person was established and not a thief. I realize there are a lot of asshats on here, but I can't believe everyone is.
Did your storage space have electrical outlets?

I'm not insinuating that you are retarded, but that there seems to be a lot of "I thought he was trustworthy" stuff going on lately. And I know how expensive tools are. Oohh how I know, lol.
I'd just hate to see a "he said it was a friend's friend who took it" kind of story develop. It does happen.
No, I had to cheat and use one of those light-to-outlet adapters.

I don't have a garage either, and I know how much it sucks. just some advice, print off a legal contract online, find something that has to do with someone holding onto your property. take it somewhere that has a notary, get it notarized(cost like 5 bucks) than take photos of everything you have as evidence that your the owner. that'll help with security that someone isn't going to screw you over. if you have a legal contract, you could take them to court if they didn't give you something back.
just a little advice, I've actually seen situations like these before, and they do work, if all parties involved are mature, which it sounds like you are.
Good luck

On the down-side, that honestly doesn't get you too much real security. Yes, you can sue someone, but if it's less than $5000, in Oregon, it's small claims and YOU (the plaintiff) are responsible for pursuing your judgement. I know this the hard way.
On the bright-side I know a guy who is on the up and up and apparently doesn't use his garage, so he's thinkin about it!
In case anyone else is considering something like this, I think the best way to cover your *** might be to "rent" out the space in someone's garage and then get renter's insurance on the space and all your stuff in there. Then, if you get ripped off, the insurer can deal with it.

I appreciate the implication of yours, though. Thanks.

I never said it wasn't a strange request. I was just testing a novel solution for a problem.

Oops, forgot to add this "
"Let's be honest though...IF you had a garage, would you let a stranger from an internet forum gain access to your driveway/ garage?
Nobody is sketchy, it's not easy trusting a stranger who can disappear with all your belongings the next day. A very uneasy feeling.
