Default 2 builds,2 cars

1st car is 92 civic sedan:
built ls bottom end
eagle rods
arias 9:1 pistons
arias rings
b16head
type r intake
t3 t04r .50 trim ebay turbo
tuned with crome pro
looking for 400+whp

as it sits now...

questions:
what would be a good rev limiter for this engine.
it has king bearings in it now but i dont like the way they feel, i think i wanna go with acl.
would this turbo make it to the 400whp mark?

second car 93 eg hatch ( daily driver)
d15b7 with ex trans

engine is stock for now but i was thinking of doing a mini me and running the 89 integra pistons with a z6 head and intake with a y8 head gasket, just to make it a little more fun to drive everyday.

yeah, that intake manifold looks like a gsr one. not a b16. ebay 50 trim i'm pretty sure won't make 400 hp. maybe 300, but 400 would definately be pushing it. as far as a rev limiter, let that up to your tuner. he has alot more experience than most people do. as for bearings lots of people use acl bearings with absolutely no issues. for me to believe that they are garbage, i'd have to see proof, not just someone saying, "i know a guy" or "i heard this" or whatever. written proof of engine failing is what i would have to see to believe. and, further more, honda bearings can fail also. just because it says "HONDA" doesn't mean its the absolute best of everything. acl's have a pretty established name if you ask me. and, there are lots of people using ebay turbo's and making good numbers. just, a 50 trim isn't very big. maybe like, an ebay 60 trim, or a t70 would suit better for those hp goals. put the 50 trim on your d series.

ebay t3/t4 50 trim's are all 44trims (3" in/ 2" out).....measure it up there hasn't been any true generic 50 trims from ebay in several years. dont think it'll get you to 400whp, 300 for sure 350 maybe. that turbo will be the only thing holding you back, i say keep your eyes peeled good deals have been popping up on some nice snails on the cheap.

for the d15

ex/si trans
z6/y8 intake mani
d16a6 cam with a oem y8 camgear or adjustable y8 gear @ 2* retarded
i/h/e
will run high 15's without having to crack it open for a bit more

same mods +

y8 2 layer headgasket
mill the head .04

10.8:1 compression + tune = fun as hell low to mid 15 sec car all like 500 bucks

IMO it looks like **** lol just looks like somethin is missing and it is asking for bad news leaving your belt exposed like that. if he wanted to just see the cam gears he could just cut the side off but still cover the belt itself. a friend did it and it looks really nice.

It is his car. His opinion is what matters best. I have mine covered.

that is true...but im just thinking that it will be alot safer to run the covers. im sure the op would hate for his motor to go to waste because something flew up and cut his timing belt then his pistons raped the valves. all because he thought it looked cool. lol thats all im sayin...to each their own.

well i did a d series compression calculator
and it said my compression would be 16:12:1???
with p29 pistons in a jdm d15b with a y8 2 layer head gasket..
thats sounds crazy.

Look at the stamp on the side of the block right above the header.

Also you can simply tell by looking at the intake manifold. This is clearly a Gsr head because of the Gsr snail like manifold design.

well with a stock d15b and a 2 layer y8 head gasket, with pm6 pistons it said it would be 12:29:1. so i guess thats what im going with and a bisi cam.

Nice cars man. I kind of like the look of the exposed timing belt as well but perhaps cutting the covers to just expose the gears is a good idea.
