swap vs refs??
if i swap a k series in in a 96 or newer car (obd2) what setup if any will pass the emissions test? pa has a obd2 link that reads readiness monitors, vin, and check engine light status. will the k-pro pass these. any help would be great. i plan on DD this car so 5k exempt is out of the question
the car will obviously be modified.. unless the car originally came with that style motor they should be testing it as a hotrod..much easier to pass under this as old cars r a hell of a lot more dirtier with emissions
the deal with passin the refs inspection to to pass the swap... absolutely no wiring tucking, ur guna need all the emissions control from whatever year car the motor came out on, sometimes even the fuel tank and pump, swap has to be installed professionally not no ghetto half *** swap u knw it has to look like it was done right, it has to pass the smog like it would if it was in its original chasis, and no computer tunes. other than that it should be good

he's in PA, not california. he doesn't have to worry about the fuel tank bull. you should just grab the entire rsx-s harness and use the oem computer and it will pass no problem
well to be completly honest, i am a lisenced emmissions inspecter (meaning i look at said car, run through a state computer and either it passes or fails, i just didnt know what i had to do as far as a computer? can i use a stock computer for emmissions then switch to hondata for daily driving? will the car run with swap on oem computer?
i know for a fact the the dot computer has to plug into obd2 port, and it reads, mil status (off to pass), vin (not a big deal if it doesnt match), and the biggest thing im worried about is the readiness monitors, 96-00 your aloud 2 not set (untested emissions items), and 01 + only one is aloud to be untested. now i have some checking to do, some one said change reg. to hotrod, got to see if its even worth it or possible, driving restrictions ect.

ECU note: If you have a US K20 swap (such as Type S or base model K20), you will need to have your ECU K-Pro'ed by Hondata, or use another standalone such as AEM EMS, etc.. Reason for this is due to the immobilizer in the ECU. This will not allow you to run your car. However, if you get a JDM ECU such as the DC5-R or EP3 CTR, you will NOT need to have a standalone. The ECU code for DC5-R is PRC.
K-pro is supposed to work with the DLC port so it *should* work. If you use the original RSX ECU you will need to wire in the key ring and transponder for the immobilizer, as well potentially swapping in the RSX fuel tank.
