My steering seem a bit off after I did my swap and it feels like it easily steers from side to side especially if I hit a bump or those grooves on the freeway. For some reason, it doesnt feel as solid as before and I'm afraid to drive fast which defeats the purpose of getting a strong engine...lol. WILL ALIGNMENT DO THE TRICK? I'm putting it off because I replaced my axles and crossmember and I'm still waiting for a new motor and tranny in a couple of weeks.
certain toe settings can make the car seem very switchy. it probably is an alignment. you should get one once everything is all done and see if that helps.
Mine does to man ..Its pretty scary ..one moment everything is ok then pulls like a **** or somethng when you turn...Its very switchy after my swap ....2 hands all the time

hahaha, me too, 2 hands bro, especially going over 100mph...do you think its that extra weight? I have front and rear strut bars and rear lower tie...I wonder if I should replace my swaybars too...I'll get my alignment done soon and find out if it gets any better
The extra weight has something to do with it. Also, the engine mounts should be torqued in a specific sequence or vibration or other misalignment may affect handling. Get hold of a Helm's manual. It's spelled out in there.

thats funny, my car does the exact same thing since i put my motor in, it's almost like it has power steering because it doesn't feel nearly as stiff. i hate it!!!
torque steer
You put more power in the turnig wheels
The more power you have going to the turning wheels the worse it will get
But I do reconmend getting an alighnment

If you feel like you're fighting your car all the tight and that it likes to follow grooves, then the tie rods might be damaged...which would make your toe extremely unstable.
If you are going to get an alignment done after a motor swap, wait a couple weeks first, to let everything settle with the new parts. Your suspension isn't used to the new weight, or lack thereof.
Getting an alignment too early will be redundent, as things will tend to change on you.
Same goes for lowering.

Thanks drumwurks...i've been waiting for a couple of months already
Everything should be settled in by now...But I will get my tie rods checked and everything else while i get the alignment done.
