Default 1/4 mile times, I think they blow

went to LACR last week on friday, I have a 2000 civic dx 4dr, everything in it. I have jrsc, intake, greddy evo, fuel pump, BTC and jackson fpr. rollin on slips. First off I don't think my jrsc is tuned right or running correctly, Sacramento motoring did the install, and my BTC is not working, I can not get the car to react to it. It was my first time racing with a tree, my first run was a 17.2 and my best run was a 16.9, it was also pretty warm out, I did my runs early. After my last run at 16.9 as I was pulling onto the return lane, come to find out my fuel pump just QUIT. Are these normal times? I'm pretty pissed.

I would take it to another shop to have them look it over and get a second opinion. From the looks of it though you are making more power. For the first time at the track with a DX 4-door with no weight reduction and a sohc non-vtec motor that is a about to be expected time.
You might post all the info on your time slip like 1/8th time and mph along with 60ft times and 1/4 mph. This can tell us if your hooking up or making decent power.

Those times seam really slow to me. Is this car a stick or auto??? When i had my boosted 93 4door lx i hit a 15.9 on about 6-7lbs my other runs were 16.1, 16.0, 15.9 And this was not tuned with a nice heavy black widow body kit on stock tires.

I ran a 15.5 on a non boosted single cam VTEC...of course it was in a 93 hatch but..that thing should be in the 15s!

It's a stick, and my boost guage is only reading 4lbs maybe 5 right at redline, it's an autometer and I checked the vacumm line and it doesn't look to be kinked. also I am hearing a whistle when my car passes from vacumm to boost, with that whistle I also hear a slight chattering when cruising on the freeway at about 75 or so and you put the boost guage in between boost and vacumm. I am hearing from alot of poeple at LACR that you can correct your time and take 6 tenths of a second off of your time, that would be you E.T. if you were at a track near sea level. that would put me at a 16.3.

either your car is messed up or your driving is, what kind of 60ft's were you getting. like the other guy said you should be somewhere in 15's.

You might want to check the timing and have everything tuned. As far as LACR, the high altitude at that track usually makes cars run a bit slower than they would at sea level. About your times, yes I would be pissed too!

I HATE lacr......Horrible track conditions, the high elevation, gusty winds, and all the sand/dirt flying around from those dirt bikes **** me off.....

But I cant complain, better than nothing

Fiberglass kits don't weigh too much. It's not like without it you'd be busting low 15's or anything.

i'm not too sure how to read a time slip yet, but my reaction was a .592. Going down the slip the first time is 2.406 then 6.944 then 10.701 then 13.900 with an E.T. of 16.788 at 81.021 mph. That was last friday night, the 6th of sept.

LACR sucks. A 16.9 is more like a 16.4. It is .5 sec of a difference. I don't know what you should be running but for reference I ran a best time of 16.9 at LACR with my stock 94 Civic Ex Coupe. Only mods were 15 in rims and tires.
