Default Type R tranny Vs Gsr Tranny

I currently have a type r tranny for drag race set up. but it seems i am going to be gear limited even running the car out to 9.5k. Is it worth switching to a 94 95 Gsr tranny and just ad a Lsd. Or should i just change forth gear if M-Factory has it available for the Type R tranny

Limited on boost? That's just an internet myth. A faster accelerating tranny, is a faster accelerating tranny no matter what.

If you're strictly drag, then stick with the type r. If you daily drive this car and you want to get a little bit better gas mileage without hurting your 1/4 mile times too much, then a GSR tranny with an LSD is what you'd want.

So you changed the 4th gear in the ITR to a Gsr?

does the LS 4th gear fit?
its a .966 ratio i believe, would be good for 155+ mph if you need to go that fast.

Only if you use LS 3rd, hub/slider, and shift fork as well.
