99 Acura CL Tranny Swap: H23A1 transmission price?
I own a 1999 Acura CL with the F23A1 engine and automatic transmission, and all signs point to my transmission being in it's last stages of life. I want to convert it to a manual car instead of paying for another automatic transmission that'll break in another couple years.
I'd also like to rebuild my engine and put a turbocharger on it, when I have the funds for it (which won't be for another year or so).
From what I've read, the H23 transmission is a good way to go, because it has a longer gears like the F23 transmission but was built stronger for a higher horsepower engine (and is a direct bolt-on because the H-series is based off the F-series). I've also contacted a seller on Craigslist nearby who might be willing to sell me an H23 manual transmission.
What I'd like to know is this:
1. Is the H23 transmission a good transmission, and specifically a good one to use for my long-term plan (turbo)?
2. What's a good price for a used H23 transmission?
3. What should be my cutoff in terms of mileage on the transmission I end up buying?
Thanks for any help you can give!

1) h23 has shorter gears, f23 has longer, i currently have f23 tranny on my boost setup. You will need a better pressure plate and clutch.
2) Im sure 300-600 would be decent.
3) more then your engine lol, no depends on how it was driven and maintained really. i would say no more then 80 k though.
***Research more about going from auto to Manual its not as easy as it sounds. good luck with the turbo plans in the future. i love my f23 boosted, good to see someone wanting to do it.
