Hey i just bought a 2010 civic si about two weeks ago and ever since i had it it if i let go of the steering wheel it tends to veer towards the right. So i asked the dealership if i could test drive another si but it does the same thing.Does anyone else have this problem ??
My bother says its because of the LSD and the axels not being of the same length but they should have found a solution to this right? would this not cause uneven tire ware ?I even took it back to the dealer ship TWO times and the checked the alignment and even gave me two brand new front tires but still nothing has changed ...

lol i was checking to see if the alignment was good because i had my car delivered from another dealer ship. but its on every road with or with out bumps but when i took my dads is350 out for a test drive and it does not have this problem at all. Is this because of the LSD and uneven Axel lengths
I believe because the car uses an intermediate shaft that both of the axles are actually the same length.
I don't believe having LSD would have much to do with the issue.
What did the dealership say it was?

I had mine aligned when they fixed my 3rd gear issue. It still slightly pulls right. I am not worrying about it yet. In summer when I get new tires I will get it aligned and wheels balanced and what not. See what happens then I guess.
Honda has a TSB for alignment issues. It calls for putting weights on the steering wheel along with a leveler to measure road crown. Have your dealer do this. A new car should NOT be pulling to the right. Who buys a new car with alignment issues. No one. Get it fixed properly. Any alignment issue will cause uneven tire wear.

an lsd in a straight line wouldnt do anything. all the lsd does is keep the drive wheels at the same speed, whether it be a drag race, or taking tight turns. uneven axles wont do anything either. its camber and toe that is affecting how your car drives. tire pressure is also a factor.
My o8 Si did the same thing and the dealership switched the two front wheels and it seemed to help. I agan had the same probem and my tire dealer told me that it was an original defect in one of the front tires which caused it to pull to the right.
I have had my car aligned multiple times and it's not the alignment. I guess some tires come from the manufacturer defective!

to be real here, does it really matter? Just being straight up here but i like to keep my hands on the steering wheel at all times. Yea mines an 07 and it pulls to the right a little bit but there is so many factors. The road being crooked, the weight of the driver, etc. Some even say its a saftey feature for when you fall asleep on the highway, it will pull you to the right and hit those loud road bumpy things to wake you up. If that happens i rather hit a ditch than rear end someone going highway speeds.
BTW the tsb does not cover the SI I believe.
If you are talking about pulling right to the point its pulling your hand then please disregard what ive said. That means you got a problem.
Also firestone has lifetime wheel alignment for $140. IMO its worth it cause after 2 alignments at the dealership, its already around 180 dollars. I go every year

its not just when i let go of the steering wheel its when i go both hands on the steering wheel it still pulls the the right but idk im taking it back to the dealership and try to fix this stupid problem its my first new car so im kinda pissed that im paying over 20 thousand for a car that cant go in a straight line
There is no reason why your car shouldnt go straight. My 09 doesnt have this problem. Tell them to give u a print out of the alignment, maybe ur caster is off and if thats the case that means something suspension wise is messed up.
You can make the car drive straight, you can adjust the subframe on these cars to change the camber/caster specs. If it pulls right you can increase caster on the right side to offset road crown,or you can go another route, raise the camber on the left front,or lower r/f camber .
A car will pull to the side with least caster ,also a car will pull to the side with most camber. You can use this to your advantage to get a car to drive straight.

my 08 four door did it alittle at first. then i lowered it and it got worse and i got a camber kit and everything and got it aligned and it still pulls hard to the right... ive gone threw 4 sets of tires in a year... one was a set a azenas though and they just wear quick.

i just bought a 2010 civic si and i have the very same problem. i took it to the dealer they did an alignment the first time and the second time they said it was induced tire pull. after the second time they tried to fix the problem it got worse. i have another appoinment tuesday but for a 27000 cdn this is not acceptable. i had 4 cars previous a older civic and an acura and never had this problem. this is bs. i dont think the dealerships know what the problem is and are wasting time and money on it so they shrugg the problem off.
there has been alot of problems with si's pulling to the right ... mine currently does it right now as well ... even with a camber kit due to being lowered ... a couple of times a week i'll see someone post a thread about this over on the "ocho"
I think this problem needs some media attention. the dealers are horrible and livid because they are wasting time and money trying to fix it. honda knows about the issue and dont even know exactly whats causing the pulling. there are 4 procedures to follow on the service bulletin but its not correcting the problem. honda canada needs to step up to the plate and see what the problem really is. if my car isnt fixed properly on tuesday i am emailing all my service forms and evidence to the local news networks.
it seems that lately every car has a problem, just like toyota/mazda/ford , Honda will probably call the cars back to get them fixed if enough people claim to be having this problem. I think you should go the the dealership and tell them to get it fixed because it will only get worse.
