AIM MXL Dash with S300
Ok so hondata decided to lock the ****ing thread about gettin an AIM dash to work with s300 so lets pick this up.
They said they supplied the needed info in the thread, but really only told you what parts are needed to interface a serial to a USB port. What happens after that, ...gotta enter commands?, what commands?, where?, lets get this figured out because i want to do this later this year or next winter.
Original thread.

I see why they locked the thread, a regular user posted private protocol information in public domain.
If you can wait a bit I have something in the works that is way more configurable, custom designable, and more affordable than the AIM dash... and it will work with all Honda softwares... including the S300.

Ya, I understand, but whether it's valid info or not that's borderline reverse engineering Hondata's stuff. I can understand how they'd be upset about it.
There will definitely be more information about the new product.

not to hijack the thread, But will your system be compatible with stand alone ecus ? Or just Honda based systems ? . Im asking as im interested , but using AEM EMS .
A large enough screen to replace the cluster would be sweet! Much like the racepak, or other brand units. Needs to be easily viewed at night!!! This would be sweet though!

i hate how that thing looks, and its expensive too.

JR, are you going to make it so it can still display like a stock cluster layout with digital gauges, or are you going to go more TV2 route and use bar graphs with digital text/numbers? Just curious as to what kind of ideas you are tossing around. I would still love to have the street style layout with digital sweeping gauges and then have a a race setup that is just Tach, Temps, Boost, and possibly Fuel level.
Cant wait to see what you come up with...

You'll love this. You can place gauges in many different style setups broken down and labeled the way you want, bar graphs, live graphs, text labels in several different fonts and sizes, text linked to real world values, input lights, and some other options anywhere you want on the screen.
So, essentially you can design it as a full gauge cluster or you can make it all text or text with bar graphs, whatever you want where ever you want it.
Here's an old simple example with one of the LCDs that will show how versatile this thing can be:
