Let's talk rocker arms
Hey guys,
I am currently finishing my B18C N/A engine build and my machine shop has advised that I would need to pick up some new rockers since mine are slightly grooved.
The question I have is I've seen a ton of them and they all looked slighly more polished where the cams contact them but everyone reuses them. Mine look the same and running my nail across them does not yield any rough spots.
The machine shop is telling me not to use them with my new Pro 2 cams.
What do you guys do? I checked and new ones are very expensive at Honda for a set of 8 and I would like to avoid that expense.

As a general rule of thumb, you should replace rockers and cams as a set so they can "wear" in perfectly. BUT many many people reuse rocker arms with different cams with no problem, myself included.
So, with that being said, unless there is wear, scarring, or anything that might even look out of the ordinary, youll probably be fine to use them...
Just run some good oil and maybe even pull the cams to inspect after a little bit of mileage...just in case...

brand new ones for $300 I believe but even then I live in Canada so it would have cost over $400 for me to get them here.
I'll try and take some pics but my cam has trouble getting good close up shots.

in those pics above they honestly don't look bad at all. I'm sure they look the same as the ones in my head at the moment. I would run them and make sure you use a good oil like Royal Purple, Redline etc...something with ZDDP in it.
