are you talking about when you do a compression test?
The answer you seek varies depending on dry test or wet test.

Either way there is no solid answer for you. You just have to test all four cylinders exactly the same and compare. They should be no more than 5-10% different.
so for example:

167 - 160 - 172 - 165 <----- Those are good results
167 - 130 - 170 - 165 <----- Cylinder 2 has bad rings

Really? That low? I thought K-series had somewhere around 200psi. I know B-series motors were more like 170ish range.

My last LS motor, boosted at that, was between 180 and 185 across the board... seems pretty low for a decently high comp. car.

exact copy/paste from alldata...higher may be normal, it just says above 135 with no more that 28psi diffrence

Engine Compression Inspection

NOTE: On the 2005-2006 models: After this inspection, you must reset the engine control module (ECM)/powertrain control module (PCM), otherwise ECM/PCM will continue to stop the injectors from functioning. Select ECM/PCM reset using the Honda Diagnostic System (HDS).

Warm up the engine to normal operating temperature (cooling fan comes on).
Turn the ignition switch OFF.
2002-2004 models: Remove the No. 17 (15 A) fuse from the under-dash fuse/relay box. 2005-2006 models: Connect the HDS to the data link connector (DLC). Turn the ignition switch ON (II), then select PGM-FI, INSPECTION, then ALL INJECTORS OFF function on the HDS.
Remove the four ignition coils.
Remove the four spark plugs.

Attach the compression gauge to the spark plug hole.
Open the throttle fully, then crank the engine with the starter motor and measure the compression. Compression Pressure: Above 930 kPa (9.5 kgf/cm2, 135 psi)
Measure the compression on the remaining cylinders. Maximum Variation: Within 200 kPa (2.0 kgf/cm2, 28 psi)
If the compression is not within specifications, check the following items, then remeasure the compression.
Damaged or worn valves and seats
Damaged cylinder head gasket
Damaged or worn piston rings
Damaged or worn piston and cylinder bore
Remove the compression gauge from the spark plug hole.
Install the four spark plugs.
Install the four ignition coils.
2002-2004 models: Install the No. 17 (15 A) fuse from the under-dash fuse/relay box. 2005-2006 models: Select ECM/PCM reset to stop the ALL INJECTORS OFF function on the HDS.

Hey thanks for the input guys. My type -R buddy and I were talkin about all this and we were curious what it was. He was sayin that the type -R was around 225-250 psi. Crazy haha.

^^ no way it's that high. But the important thing is that all the cylinders are the same across the board.

(Hey, how's it going man! Just joined honda tech..)

It also depends on how many time you crank the engine over. When I compression tested my rsx-s last fall, I got 220, 204, 206, 218. I let it crank over for several seconds, perhaps up to 10 times. If you stop cranking too early, you don't get all the way up there.

Noting how many cranks it takes to get up to pressure can also give insight to the condition of the motor. It is possible for a cylinder to be able to get to high pressures on the compression tests and still not be in good shape. For example, if cyl 1 reaches its max after 10 cranks and cly 2 reaches its max in just 6 cranks, perhaps cly 1 isn't in such great shape.

Ha, our last B20V build with 12.9:1 CR was 295-305 across the board if I remember correctly...
