yes you can use the obd1 hardware on obd2 the motor does not matter if the ecu thinks its obd1

How can you tell an obd1/obd2 engine? is it only in the ecu/wiring? is there something on the engine itself?

obd2 engines have more evap bullcrap on the intake manifold. they all have knock sensors (i'm pretty sure), and they all have crankshaft fluctuation (ckf) sensors on the oil pump.

vtec engines have the knock sensors and the CKP crankshaft position sensor, because in obd2 its not ran from the dizzy like obd1

the obd2 dizzy does have the ckp in it, just like obd1. the crankshaft fluctuation (ckf) sensor however is only present on obd2 engines, and they are 2 completely different sensors

Correct

To the OP, the easiest way to do this swap is to use the harness from a '96 - '97 Del Sol Si, or a '96 - '99 Integra LS/ITR, you will need to wire in vtec if using an LS harness.

go to the hybrid section. There is a huge article all bout this. All I remember off hand is that you will need to rewire the iacv. Dont' worry bout the crank sensor on the oil pump cause your obd-1 ecu wont read it. It's not a very hard swap at all since it's going into an obd-1 car.

You don't need to waste your time getting other harnesses. Just use the stock del sol one.
