Icon6 b18c1 machine first step

so i just got a usdm obd1 b18c1 short block im planning on sending to the machine shop i was just wondering what the usual procedure was? do they need the new bearings to measure clearance(i guess im thinking plastigage)? or will they mic the crank and main bore and determine what bearings i need? i want to run acl race bearings but i can do oem as well. it won't be turbo, but b16a head with semi high comp like 11.6 (p30s?)

also, the pistons in it have 050 stamped in the middle does that mean theyre oversize? i couldnt see a decimal point... i used a dinky inside caliper and measured 81.4ish..

why don't you talk to the machine shop and work out a plan of attack? If you aren't sure what you want to do with the block, it's pretty hard for us or the machine shop to tell you. if 50 is stamped on the pistons it could already be oversize by .5mm.
