i see that you live in covina but want something more quick in a well established residential neighborhood...are you planning to street race or track this car since being fast is something that your more worried about then actually replacing worn out parts...!!!

This is a good suggestion above. but if you wanna good reliable performance go with all stock honda parts set up. Do a ls/vtec with b16 piston, you can pick up all this stuff for dirt cheap. And if you wanna ever go bost you already got a good base set up. An if you ever go boost you could get 350hp on pump gas and still be some what reliable as long as you get good quaility fuel. in a ef that is fast.

If you haven't misspoken or exaggerated about anything yet and this will be an actual track car. Then the first thing you should worry about is safety. AKA Rated racing seat...not bombz, Rollbar at the least, and a good safe harness. In addition to that you will need some other safety gear such as a helmet and if you so elect, a suit/shoes/ect. Next on the list would be a dedicated set of wheels and decent tires. After that replace your worn out stock components such as bushings, brakes, ect. That should take care of your 2500 pretty easily and maybe leave you with enough money to get some seat time.

Getting it bard sounds like a good idea how much is that? suspension bushings wheels is nothing major cause those 2500 is from my tax refund check so thats strickly for the swap. i get unemployment & get paid under the table so making the car race ready isnt difficult for me to do rite now lol. but while i build up the swap ill be buying struts springs bushings & all that goodness @ thesame time aside from the 2500. ls/vtec sounds good any1 know a website where i can pick up p30s w/rings? maybe even a ctr intake cam for cheap? also i kinda wnna stay obd0 cause of the budget but idk? if some could help me do the math on an ls/v setup for under 2500 koo

honestly a swap is going to cost more than you think. the price of the engine/tranny/ecu is just the main part... you have linkage/mounts/other misc crap that adds up fast.

buy a 1 gen b16 swap which can be had for for less then 1500 nowadays and swap the bottom end for a b20z with a crvtec kit and tune= around your budget but with 200 fly hp,**** load of tq,short gearing and easily take you into high 13's or low 14's depending on driver.

the work will be done by me & some friends. i found a used tranny b16 tanny for 300 an ls block for 200 complete & a pr3 head for 400 complete all CL shopping pretty much. machine work of course a shop installing the pistons thats it. everything else garage work. i think it should be enough tho but ur right. it does add up quick! my buddy might shoot me his ls/v complete with y1 tranny axles & ecu for 1400 its in running condition no problems @ all/ ill see if i gettm him to sell it if not then back to my wish list. b20 block alone is pricey in my town. longblocks go for 550-600 depending on c.r. id but are either reliable for a good beating @ a time attack/road race?
