Lookin' for something major to do to my engine but don't want turbo and don't have the money for swap. I've yet to see ANY supercharged D17's and i'm lovin' the idea, but i have yet to find any superchargers made for the D17. Has anyone supercharged their D17 or heard of any from another engine that would work for the D17?

 

Nobody makes a bolt-on supercharger for the D17, and nobody as of yet has fabricated anything.

 

WHHHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!! the d17 is so beast! why wouldn't anyone make a bolt-on supercharger for it? lol anyway... I've heard you can use a d16 supercharger with a d16 head on a d17 but idk... anyone know if there's any truth to this?

 

But if that's possible, then how do you get a D16 Head to fit our D17 Head?

D17's are not your average D15-16's

 

you know i heard a while ago the Stillen was in the process of making a D17 supercharger but was having to much difficulty getting it to work so they dis- continued the supercharger. that was actually the first attempt to make one. as much as that sounds awesome i just dont see how the D17 and a supercharger would work that well. best bet to just either boost with turbo or just go all out on N/A

 

Someone is already in the works of bolting on a D16 head onto a D17 block. Just FYI. As for a S/C kit, as HomelessEM2 (Inside joke )

Youtube shows a guy with a D16Y7 head on a D17A2 block w/ a D16 tranny. Wonder how it's possible to connect those tranny to our blocks?

 

Was it in the states? The person I know doing this is. And was it actually running? AFAIK, no one has posted anything up online about it and having it actually run while driving.

 

I dont think the guy had a d16 tranny...but there is a video with a d16 head on a d17 block.

 

He even said on his comment that he said any d series will bolt.
