Default boostin' of course

my gf wants to boost her civic and im not sure of a couple things. can a d15 and a d16 use the same turbo manifold? also do you have to tune the ecu to get boost like i have to with my audi? and lastly how much horsepower can you get reliably with stock internals?

yes d15 and d16's share the same exhaust as well as intake bolt pattern

yes you have to get a tune with boost. you'll need a chipped ecu which can be tuned or some kind of standalone engine management system.

220hp is about the most you should aim for with stock internal. d15/d16 rods are sooo small, so don't push your luck lol.

im guessing the tune would be the most expensive part. what companies are good for these cars?

most people chip there ecu's and then have a shop dyno tune them. shops can tune them using various programs such as neptune or crome. other shops prefer to tune with hondata. if money's not an option i'd go with an s300 system.

and figure in another couple hundred dollars for the tune itself

money is an option because because i still have a $900 tune to do to my audi so i can run my BT setup. is there a cheaper way? i know i would still have to have it tuned but i can have that done for almost nothing

Read through the Forced Induction forum and FAQ. Many of your questions have been covered at great length before. Also, you may find several cheaper alternatives to your tuning dilemma while looking around...there are several available
