Default Car alarm for S2K

Recently purchased an 04 S2K and was told by Honda that it can't be alarmed due to electronic purposes. Is this legit ? I've never heard of a car that can't be alarmed. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

They may be referencing the immobilizer.

You car can have an alarm installed - the immobilizer is not going to prohibit that.

Just do yourself a favor, get some form of DEI alarm, preferably a two way system, and make sure whoever is installing the alarm doesnt shortcut by not soldering all of the wires

Thanks a lot, appreciate it. Man I hate buying cars from dealerships.

What the dealer might be talking about is when an alarm is installed they wire in a starter kill relay. If this is done wrong you could have the immobilizer circuit cut out, this has caused some owners if S to have thier S shut down while driving at random times. So he might have seen a couple of S come back with this problem and thinks it is a problem with aftermarket alarm and not the person who installed the alarm. I have an 04 with an aftermarket alarm and have never had any problems. Just make sure you get the alarm from somewhere reputable so they hopefully know what they are doing.
